The Harm of Plastics

Have you listened to the news enough to know that that plastics are now considered to be unhealthy for you? The reason for this is very simple, they are made with chemicals that have been proven to be extremely unhealthy, and not just for you, but for you children and babies. Then next question that needs to be asked is this: What is it in plastic, what chemicals are within them are those that cause problems for you? The chemical is called Bisphenol. It is used in the plastic, specifically bottles. So what does this horrible thing called Bisphenol do? For us not technical people, it cause a rise in hormones. While this may not seem bad, please look a little deeper. When examined, the levels of Bisphenol are so high in plastic bottles (specifically), that they cause harm to significant number of laboratory animals. Continue to look deeper. The toxicity found within the plastic bottles has been found to have high levels of mercury, lead, and even cadmium (a white, ductile divalent metallic element resembling tin). Lets not forget about carcinogens by way of diethylhexyl phthalate. What's the problem here? It has been found to cause complications with the endocrine system and it's disrupted. This in turn leads to the following complications: birth defects, cancer(s), developmental problems in children and immune system suppression (which in itself can be life threatening). Clearly the solution within adults and children is to change from plastics to glass. You have a choice if you're going to use plastic or some other method of container, but what about your animals? They have no choice, and you are probably aware of the fact that most people use plastic to feed, water and give treats to their animals. If the plastics are causing this much damage to adults, what about the damage to your pet? Have you considered how bad things are for him/her? How much is your pet worth to you? Are they worth so little, that you are going to continue to contaminate them with plastics that have been proven to cause harm in lab animals and humans? Doubtful.

Ceramic Bowls Hand Crafted For YOU!

Your Animal!

Take a look a little bit further into the damage you may be doing to your pet. Remember, we're dealing with plastic. It can be bowls, plates or plastic containers of any kind. Consider now how often it is that you give your animal a treat, water or food in those plastic dishes. Here's a quick count for you: You feed your dog 2-3 times a day, not including snacks or the water that stays sitting inside the bowls. Over a week, that adds up to 14 - 21 minimally. Now consider it over a month period of time, that's 60 - 90 times your pet is exposed. And over a year, it's a whopping 728 - 1092. And remember, this didn't included the water that was sitting in the bowl ever day, so that you're pet(s) can get a drink whenever needed. Again the question is it worth the risk of potentially exposed them to toxins, every single day, with every single meal? Hopefully for you the answer is no, otherwise why own a pet. There is a solution for you and your pet and that is to change to handcrafted ceramic bowls. One for the water, one for the food and one to store the treats in. You can get them made in bright colors, specifically for your pet, with their name on it. If you buy form a high class place, the glaze will be free from lead and dishwasher safe. Yes, depending on whom you go to, it can be considered to be a piece of art work, because artist do handcraft and paint them. True enough, you don't have to purchase one for your pet, you can continue to be exposed to poisons, but the likelihood of this is no. You love your pet and wants what's best for them, get them a ceramic bowl and jar so that they can live happily ever after!

It's it worth losing your animal?

Clearly, you love animals, or you wouldn't have one. Then why would you continually subject them to having potentially life threatening disorders by continuing to use plastic. Hopefully, by this time you've come to the conclusion that you aren't. So start today, to use an alternative method of feeding, watering and giving your animal treats.
